Monstera Deliciosa (Standard)

Monstera

Monstera Deliciosa

One of the most popular houseplants in the world, Monstera Deliciosa is famous for the splits and holes in its leaves as they age and grow. If your space holds the right kind of light, they will happily take over and turn into a jungle quickly. However, they are super easy to cut back, propagate, and trellis.

Native to tropical regions of the Americas, they like to get slightly dry in between watering and then soaked very well. Humidity is also a plus, but typically not necessary. Best to keep away from pets. More mature Monsteras will grow aerial roots that can be used to help trellis or cut back.

Light:

Bright indirect to moderate light. Very tolerant to direct sun (no more than 3-4 hours, though).

Water:

Allow top 2-4 inches of the soil to dry between waterings, then soak well.

Varieties:

Standard Monstera, Swiss Cheese (Adonsii), Thai Constellation, Monstera Albo, Ginny, and more.
